In this volume, you will find value convergence between genders.
Psybernews regularly provides you set of research reviews. In this issue, you will find two reviews. One is about psychological determinants of hacking behavior. Another is about models of health behavior for management of diabetes. Psybernews also stresses on articles about research methods. In this issue, you will find how to maximize reliability of achievement test when responses are binary - right and wrong. The article on data cleaning provides new insight about several principles of cleaning random data.
Recently National Academy of Applied Psychology organized their Annual conference. In one of the articles published in this issue, the abstracts of the conference were analyzed and research trends were identified. Analysis also shows distributions of different topics and identified the areas that received less importance in research.
Finally, I am thankful to all the readers and editorial board members who voluntarily reviewed the articles. I am thankful to Prasad Psycho Corporation for publishing the journal. Please read the journal and give your valuable feedback. Enjoy Reading!!

Abstract: Lawyers’ litigation forecasts play an integral role in the justice system. In the course of litigation, lawyers constantly make predictions based on which they make strategic decisions and/or advice their clients accordingly. Research on lawyers has revealed that successful lawyers tend to share some personality traits. This study investigates the role of personality traits (namely Neuroticism, Extraversion, Openness, Agreeableness and Conscientiousness) in prediction of legal proceedings among lawyers. Neo – Five Factor Inventory (Form S), (Costa & McCrae, 1991) and Questionnaire for assessing success in litigation prediction (Loftus et. al, 2010) were administered on 80 male practicing lawyers in West Bengal. They predicted their goals for three hearings in an ongoing case. After three hearings, the outcomes of the hearings were compared with the predictions. Results suggest that Extraversion and Conscientiousness play significant role in causing successful litigation prediction. Key words: Personality Traits, litigation forecasts, predict case outcomes.

Title of the paper: Data Cleaning in Psycho-Informatics Research.

Author’s name: Anurupa Kundu, Debdulal DuttaRoy.
Introduction to author: Ms. Anurupa Kundu is a Senior Research Fellow at the Psychology Research Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata.
Dr. Debdulal Dutta Roy is an Assistant Professor at the Psychology Research Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata.
Abstract: Background: One of the important areas in Psycho-informatics is data cleaning, as psycho-informatics includes non-hypothetical and non-experimentally controlled data. Data cleaning is the process of detecting and correcting (or removing) the irrelevant, incomplete, inaccurate records from a database. Researcher collects the data from data reservoir wherein large numbers of irrelevant data are mixed with the relevant ones, which is of researchers’ interest. Purpose: To discuss data cleaning process in psycho-informatics research. Method: Discussion pertains to data cleaning before and during data mining. Before data mining, data cleaning process is done through inclusion and exclusion criteria. While, during data mining it occurs through statistical modelling like outlier detection. Implication: This discussion will be helpful to get reliable and valid information for research.
Keywords: Psychoinformatics, Data cleaning, Data mining.

Title of the paper: Maximizing Reliability of Rational Equivalence.

Author’s name: Parama Gupta, Debdulal DuttaRoy.
Introduction to author: Ms. Parama Gupta is working as Project Linked Person at the Psychology Research Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. She has done M.Sc. in Psychology from the Department of Psychology, University Of Calcutta in the year 2012.

Abstract: Reliability is an important component for any psychological assessment tool. Reliability enhances validity of the test. For the test with genuinely dichotomized response category maximization of reliability coefficient is more challenging. This study aims at maximizing reliability of one genuinely dichotomized reasoning test. Data were collected from 85 students through test of similarity reasoning. Result show increase in reliability coefficient of rational equivalence when the distracting items were removed from the model. Point biserial coefficient correlation was used to find out the distracting items.
Keywords: Reliability, reasoning test, rational equivalence.
